Yesterday, the SendGrid Developer Relations team had its regular weekly meeting, during which each team member has a chance to provide an update on what they’ve done since our last meeting, what they’re currently working on and what they plan to do before our next meeting. It’s also a chance to inform everyone of roadblocks you’re facing and request assistance from others to address those challenges. This is an important conversation, since it’s really the only time our distributed team communicates on a routine basis.
After we all disconnected, I felt compelled to chat in to our team’s Skype room to apologize for all the craziness that came along with the call - the line dropped several times, there was a ton of loud background noise and, generally speaking, it was a rather chaotic conversation. As it turns out, this wasn’t “just another” conference call.
Elmer mentioned in his Skype response, “the fact that we had members on the call in 4 different countries is pretty awesome! #SendGridEverywhere”.
It hadn’t even dawned on me…
Martyn Davies is the newest SendGrid Devangelist and is based in London (yay!). Plus, three of us are currently visiting international destinations.
Upon further reflection, I thought it would be fun to visualize our presence on this 22nd day of August, 2012, hence the map above.
If you want to keep tabs on where we’ll be next, check out our events calendar. We’d love to see you out there!
